Doy Kim
Doy Kim is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice is centred on painting and extends into tactile, spatial, and sculptural experiences. Rather than directly representing the anxiety and fear embedded in everyday life, she transforms these emotions into speculative ecosystems and landscapes where they can be encountered from alternative perspectives.
Kim’s recent work explores the concept of "Artificial Nature," focusing on the ways humanity classifies, consumes, and reconstructs the non-human world. Drawing on research into natural history and food systems, she moves between painting, object-making, and edible sculptures to construct ecosystems that do not exist in reality. Expanding the painted image into a sensory environment, her practice functions both as a refuge and as a device for questioning the shifting boundaries of what we understand as "natural."
Major exhibitions include a solo exhibition [Eingang] (2023, Künstlerhaus Bethanien) and a seedling (2021, Daegu Art Factory).

최근에는 ‘인공 자연(Artificial Nature)’을 중심으로 인간이 자연을 분류하고 소비하며 재구성하는 방식에 주목한다. 자연사 리서치와 식품 시스템, 환경 이슈를 바탕으로 회화와 입체, 식용 조각을 넘나들며 현실에 없는 생태계를 구축한다. 회화 속 이미지를 감각적 환경으로 확장하는 그의 작업은 현실로부터의 도피처인 동시에, 인간의 욕망과 기술이 재편한 자연의 경계를 다시 질문하는 장치로 작동한다.
